The Story Behind Zion Pathways
Since she was a teenager, Charlotte has had a love for Israel. While Frank and Charlotte were translating Scriptures for the Faiwol people in Papua New Guinea, together they developed a strong interest and love for the Jewish people and the Old Testament Scriptures. They started practicing the Shabbat meal on Friday evenings. (A time of the week that the family has a special meal together for honoring the Lord and blessing the family.)

After serving 40 years with Wycliffe Bible Translators, they were led to organize a new ministry called Zion Pathways. Charlotte has been preparing a series of Bible Studies from the Old Testament that can help people to understand God’s purposes for Israel.

After she returned from her first visit to Israel in 2002, she could not get Israel off her mind. She kept saying that she really felt at home there.

At the time they were preparing to depart to Israel again in 2002 the Lord gave Frank Acts 1:8 “you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." It seemed that the Lord was saying, “I am going to do it again.

So while in Israel Frank began to realize the potential of Jews going out from Jerusalem to the nations. Yes, Israel blessing the nations. Then Frank’s path crossed with Gavriel Gefen who has an organization called Keren HaShlichut. One of it’s meanings is ‘source of emissaries’. This organization was already sending Jews to the nations. God is calling Jews to have a part in Old Testament translation in the nations.
